Superflat Floors -Where do I start?

On the Drawing Board!
Construction is the last step in the process of achieving a Defined Movement floor. Some of the factors that must be given consideration very early in the design process include:

  • Ground supported or suspended?
  • Volume, placement, and detailing of reinforcing
  • Type and placement of joints
  • Load transfer mechanisms
  • Racking layout
  • Construction program and methodology
  • Concrete Design
  • Ambient and microclimate
  • Appropriate flatness specification

With so many critical factors at play, the necessity for a defined movement floor must be decided before the project budget is set. Having allowed for the requisite design paramaters and construction costs the project Consultants and owner are well on the way to realising a high quality floor.

Experienced contractors such as CoGri Group with a proven record of constructing floors to similar tolerances will be able to offer constructive advice on design, detailing and construction methodology.

It is important to remember that a good floor is the product of layers of careful work, and cannot be achieved by the frugal application of a resin at the last minute.

If the decision to commit to a defined movement floor is delayed until further in the process, the options rapidly diminish. Left to late, the only solution will be to construct a conventional floor and Laser Grind it to a suitable tolerance.
